Single is her first Number One since 'Baby One More Time'

Britney Spears' new single ‘Womanizer’ has jumped to the top spot of the US charts,
after huge download sales of the single in its first week of release.

The song scored the biggest opening week sales by a female artist since the tracking
of digital downloads began in 2003, with the first week downloads
of the track exceeding 286,000 says Billboard.

The song, taken from her forthcoming album ‘Circus’, is the first Number One
song for Spears since her debut single ‘Baby One More Time’ in 1999.

As previously reported, Spears is expected to announce details of a world tour,
to kick off in spring 2009.
